US Open of Surfing

As some of you may or may not know, I live in Huntington BEach, California. Every year they hold the US open of Surfing. This year it is sponsored by Nike, which also owns Hurley. Anyway, the event is bigger than ever with MGMT playing and I think Bruno Mars. It gets pretty crazy down there. I walked through the event the first couple days and snapped some of these pics when it was still quiet. This weekend is absolutely crazy since the surf finals are today. So, In this pic you will see a dude with a pretty cool mohawk, something I have been seeing more and more of recently. Is the Mohawk on a comeback tour? You will also see fringe cut hem tops, homemade looking. The big thing is denim cutoff shorts for the ladies. I also spotted crop tops, hippie-esque headbands, Peace Symbols, Rasta inspired Bathing suits, animal print bathing suits, macrame hand bags and lots of sassy bathing suit cover ups. Oh, lets not forget the fedora which is just as popular as it ever was.

rachel zoe when she worked at ym magazine

So I was going through a bunch of my old business cards from when I designed and sold a girls clothing brand called sugartooth. This was back in the early 90′s. I found this business card of when The Rachel Zoe stopped by my booth at the MAGIC trade show in las vegas. I have a thing for saving business cards. I had to take a pic of this Rachel Zoe business card from when she was a market sittings editor for this magazine which used to be called YM magazine. Pretty cool.

This is my very first photo taken from long beach state campus since I started here. I saw this girl walking on campus with a retro scarf wrapped around her head. The clunky heels and big leather bag added to the hippie chic style she was struttin. I also like here sheer, loose fitting ditsy print top worn with super faded daisy dukes.

Well, its been a long time since my last post, I have been super busy with school and fine tuning my social network fashionsblogs.com . As part of my new years resolution , I decided to start blogging here again, after all , i love to people watch.

Today, walking downtown huntington beach, I saw this window disPlay in dianes. I made a double take because it looked like lingerie. The lace trim bikini bottom and rhinestone trimmings really caught my eye. I know its snowing any many parts of the country, but here in socal, they sell bathing suits year round.

I was strolling down main st in huntington beach after grabbing a bite to eat at a super cool restaurant called second floor. I think the owners of that restaurant own an art company called black market art company. Anyway, on the way back to the car I saw this dress in the window of a store called angl. This dress caught my eye because of these cute little rosettes all over it. I think its a sweet and sassy little pink dress for a night on the town.
